Home Depot Workforce

This application was to provide work scheduling tools to in-store associates. The current process was a paper trail which was prone to risks. The objective was to design a mobile application to digitize this outdated process and provide a first-time user approach to the experience.

The initial stage I undertook was gathering discovery data through user interviews which was synthesized to determine a proper user-centered solution. Working 1:1 with the product manager, the findings/hypotheses were transitioned into user stories along with low-fidelity prototypes (Axure) to start the validation phase.

Once the initial validation was achieved, I began working on the hi-fidelity user interface design (Sketch) – taking into consideration consistency, accessibility and brand. During this time I started documenting specification and usage guidelines to be leverage by engineers and future releases.

A final round of validation was conducted with the hi-fidelity prototype (InVision); testing/measuring the user’s visual interpretations. Also, I made a point to include my product engineers during this phase to gain better user insight for development. Afterwards I paired with the lead engineer during the development phase provide 1:1 guidance and collaboration.
